In recent weeks, she decided that enough was enough. It was time to launch a site that would be dedicated to all things Kitchen Worthy - she plans on highlighting food finds, recipes, kitchen tools and cookware, and even books. Be sure to drop by and say hello!
www.kitchen-worthy.com

This year, we finally did it. It was such a fantastic way to end an amazingly memorable ski trip. All snug in the sled, we zipped around the meadows of Squaw Valley, pulled by very eager dogs who were ready to go that crisp, cold morning. It was definitely a once in a lifetime experience.
See photos of the trip here.

He is often in the lobby or the restaurant in the mornings, greeting us as we head off for a day in the snow.
But we had an extra special encounter this year. Santa found Caeli’s toy horse and letter for Mrs Claus that she had lost during the trip. When he saw the kids come into the lobby, he greeted them by name, “Well, is this Caeli and Carsten?” and went on to ask Caeli if she had lost something. Imagine their surprise when Santa put the lost items in her palm? They were in absolute wonder.
It was definitely a very magical moment.

Our version, however, did not include chocolates and sweets (at least not on a daily basis). Tucked in each envelope was a special activity, such as: reading Twas the Night Before Christmas, going ice skating, having hot cocoa, donating a toy to a child in need, or leaving cookies and milk for Santa. It was a wonderful way to really celebrate the sprit of the season.

The line between Thanksgiving and Christmas seemed to blur this year. Though we’ve always been quick to get into the Yuletide spirit, this year must have been the earliest. By the time we sat down to our Thanksgiving meal, we had already hung the garland, wreaths, and stockings over the fireplace. There were even some lights outdoors. On Black Friday, we hit the local tree lot in the morning to search for the perfect tree. This year, we were drawn to the flocked tree, and decided, why not? It’s fun, and the kids were meticulous little tree elves and tackled the decorating all by themselves (well, mostly).
See pictures here.
